Board index Contact us.Flat Style by Ian Bradley. Privacy Terms. Quick links. Board index Tech Engine and Drivetrain. I'm looking for power in the whp range for now, and may go to in the future.
I've searched quite a bit for info on turbocharging the 3TC, but they all seem to redirect to the old 3tcgarage. As far as long block goes it will obviously be fully forged.
My only concern is the only connecting rods I have found are Eagle H-beams. I will also be using Wiseco 8. Should I mess with porting the head or installing larger valves or leave it be? I'm sure more questions will arrive as I go on concerning drive train. For now the plan is a w-series trans and ford 9".
Any help is appreciated, thanks! Re: 3TC Turbo? Another thing look around on the forum bro there's a lot of us guys messing around with turbos so feel free to pm or ask.
It blows my mind to see compression numbers that low, I have never come across that. Unless you already have a 9" of course. Good Luck on your build. The reason I ask is because I wonder if would be worth my while building something like this, or swapping an Altezza engine and trans. You have a choice of a number of different factory pistons for a junker build actually!
Certain Mitsubishi 4G63 turbo engines have pistons with the correct 22mm wrist pin also. I had the 3TC rods machined for floating pin so I could use the late model ones from the doner engine as I felt it could be less prone to nipping up with heat stress. I believe the stock 3TC pins could be used if desired.Remember Me? What's New? Page 2 of 4 First 1 2 3 4 Last Jump to page: Results 16 to 30 of Thread Tools Show Printable Version.

Picked up some earls gear for the turbo and I think I've got them set where I want them. Oil feed is going to run round the mack then across to the oil pressure sender which i have tee'd. Thinking of getting some copper pipe made up to go from the tee to the back of the engine to meet up with the braided oil line.
Water lines are going to go directly from the water pump to the part pictured in the back of the head. Can anyone see any problems with this? Wish i knew where all the water went and what directions it was meant to flow in the engine.
Last edited by godlovesugly; at PM. Mine was about that close and regularly had over-temp issues. You said you'd chose 7.
With a ABDC like that maybe the motor would respond better with a little more compression? Also your dynamic compression ratio would be VERY low 5. Originally Posted by Radar. To speed things up and get the combustion energy release where it is needed i. Take an old V8 with stock bottom end which someone had done some port work to the heads and jammed in a big cam A quick distributor remap turns it into a snappy responsive engine which the owner does'nt even recognise!
My 3TC turbo is 7. With toyota's standard degrees initial timing it will barely run and has NO throttle response to speak of whatever!
Bring it up to 35deg advance and the engine runs normal again and throttle response is back I pull about 6 degrees back out by 12 pounds of boost and its a package that gives me a much needed giggle to and from the drudgery of work! But, I digress. There are all kinds of aftermarket crap for them. It goes pretty good for what it is. It has 31" tall tires and 3. It is cool to wind it throught the gears and listen to the noise.
It is probably more fun that way than if it was actually fast. I think the quad-four motors look pretty cool FlipperMay 28, I agree, the 2.
Get a set-up from an older ranger with the 5-speed attached, that has definitely gone through my mind more than twice. FLAT6May 28, What kinda mileage can a person pull outta one of those though? I had the 2. I still have the engine an tranny too. I originally planned to make a little "A" bomb modified out of it But this 20mpg thing makes me go hmmmmmmm.
My Fairlane with a is getting mpg with a 3 speed and 3. Anyone got any speed secrets for the 2. Vega baby!! Damn straight Vega ci cc four banger! The car is simply the perfect vehicle for a small family but most owners find it has one small problem. There is one main solution to this problem and that is to add a turbocharger setup to the vehicle which could potentially double the horsepower! It would probably cost more than using the plastic ones, but the clinic would become more environment-friendly and, who knows, gain some new patients thanks to this Reply1 month 16 days agoBeth TerryShare On TwitterShare On GoogleHi.

Thanks:-) Reply3 months 23 days agoBeth TerryShare On TwitterShare On GoogleI understand why you would want to get it out of the cardboard box to preserve it from deterioration. If I were in your shoes, I think I would post an ad on Nextdoor or Craigslist asking if anyone had a plastic bin they wanted to get rid of. There are so many useful durable plastic items in existence already, and as long as they are not in contact with food or susceptible to breaking down into the environment, finding uses for them could be more environmentally-friendly than investing in brand new plastic-free items.
